ZF 6 Speed Trans features
- The ZF S6650 heavy Duty 6 speed manual transmission has an aluminum alloy main gear case and tail housing with the bell housing integral to the case.
- The ZF S6650 is built in both a 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive versions with a diesel design only.
- ZF first introduced the S6-650 in 1998 on the Ford Super Duty and compatible stripped chassis’s.
- The S6-650 has an internal oil pump to circulate and cool the lubricant which is unique to a manual transmission. This is a feature that is rarely seen in other models.
- All gears on are synchronized with a dual cone synchronizer in 2nd and 3rd gears with an input torque rating of over 520 ft-lb.
- Be aware that your stick shift layout may show five speeds and a low gear before the first, or it may display reverse and six forward gears. Either of these shift patterns confirm a six speed.

Every ZF 6 Speed transmission goes through an extensive building process
Dyno-Tested
Every manual ZF 6 Speed has been run on a state of the art Dyno. A Dyno simulates the conditions encountered by a transmission during every day and extreme use. This ensures that when your part arrives, it will have been rigorously tested for noises, leaks, vibrations and performance. Any part that does not meet our strict guidelines will be completely disassembled and gone through until our quality requirements have been restored.
OEM
It can be hard to find good ZF 6 Speed parts and rebuild kits, so leave it to the pro's. We buy top of the line remanufacturing materials in bulk. Purchasing large quantities allows us to spend much less giving us the ability to pass the savings down to our customers. OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Our parts meet or exceed the guidelines set forth by the manufacturer.
Upgrades
Our many years in the transmission rebuilding business have given us a distinct advantage in finding ways to improve the power handling and longevity of every unit we sell. After sorting through core after core of broken and heavily used ZF 6 Speed transmissions, our engineers were able to notice trends in wear patterns and failure points. We have developed a rebuild process that utilizes the knowledge of extensive research. Our method of improvement entails implementation of parts that have shown increased reliability under rigorous testing. Crucial design upgrades have also been added to fix inherent flaws from the original manufacturer. Our system has created a product that in most cases outlasts new units fresh from the factory
Certified
Every remanufactured ZF 6 Speed transmission has been built and inspected by a certified re builder. Our technicians have an average experience of 10 years or more. In order to preserve consistency and ensure your unit has been worked on by an expert, we assign every one of our workers with a specific model to specialize in.
New Parts
Wearable parts are replaced, this includes: seals, bearings, synchronizers, rings, bushings, bands, gaskets, keys, and much more.
Inspection
The final process before shipment is a complete inspection of the entire unit from top to bottom. If something is found during our inspection process, you can rest assured that your remanufactured ZF 6 Speed will not ship out until even the smallest of inconsistencies are addressed.
