Questions Answered About The Dodge NV4500 Transmission
Question
Do you sell the bell housing for a 95 Ram?
Answer
Unfortunately the NV3500 is designed with an attached bell housing. To separate the bell you would expose the inner parts and render the rest of the transmission unusable.

Question
What is the difference between a Getrag and NV3500 transmission?
Answer
The Getrag manual five speed transmission has four shift rails and the NV3500 transmission has a single shift rail. They are often mistaken for one another and look similar from the outside, however the internal components are also completely re-designed.

Question
What is the difference between the MG5 and the M50 for the NV3500 transmission?
Answer
The NV3500 manual transmission has two gear ratios. The MG5 is the wide ration transmission and the M50 is the close ration. The MG5 wide ration is used in the Dodge Dakota and Ram 1500 pickup trucks. The M50 close ration is used in the Dodge Ram 2500 light duty trucks.

Customer feedback and reviews
Thank you for a great transmission
"I was in the market for a NV3500 transmission for 1995 Dodge Dakota. I found Smart Parts online and was very impressed with the price. I called and talked to a sales associate to find out more about the transmission they were offering. He was very knowledgable and answered every question I had for him. It was very easy for me to decide on where I was going to buy my re manufactured transmission. I have had in in my truck for over a year now and it is still driving like the day I got it installed."

extremely happy
"My NV3500 transmission went out on my Dodge Ram 1500. When it happened I was so upset and was not in a position where I could afford to replace it. I decided to look around online and came across a re manufactured NV3500 for a very good price from Smart Parts. I was sure it had to be to good to be true. I called, thinking I was going to be told they were not available or it was really a used transmission. The sales associate told me that it was a re manufactured unit and that they were available. I decided to pull the trigger and I went ahead and ordered one from them. When I received the transmission it looked brand new, I could not believe it. My mechanic installed the transmission and it worked perfect. It is still running great and I just wanted to say Thank You for all the help and awesome transmission."
