GM / Chevy NV4500 Bellhousing Adapter Kit For Internal To External Clutch Conversion.
Our GM / Chevy bellhousing adapter kit is used to convert a V6 and V8 with a 1996 and newer NV4500 transmission with a internal hydraulic release bearing back to the conventional clutch release arm design. This bell housing kit is not only used with GM, but can also be used with the Dodge NV4500 transmission.
In 1996 GM switched the NV4500 transmission from the conventional clutch release arm design to an internal hydraulic bearing. The new transmission has an aluminum bearing retainer installed in front of the transmission case. The bell housing kit includes a Dodge modified bearing retainer from the use with a stock GM clutch fork. If you are using this kit and installing your own bearing retainer, it will be your responsibility proper main shift end play.
